John Chaich has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the fields of independent curating, strategic communications, design, and writing. John started their career in 2003 as a Designer/Copywriter at Chaich Creative and later worked as a Project Assistant at Geoffrey Knox & Associates. In 2005, they served as a Publications Designer and Manager at The New York Landmarks Conservancy. From 2007 to 2008, they worked as a Senior Writer at The United Hospital Fund and then moved on to become a Communications Production Manager at GLSEN in 2008-2009. In 2010, they held internships at Arnell Group and worked as a Designer at the Center for Sustainable Design Studies. From 2011 onwards, they transitioned into the role of an Independent Curator while also working as a Director of Communications and later as the Director of Strategic Communications at the American Federation for Aging Research. Starting in 2019, John took on the position of Visiting Faculty at Pratt Institute.
John Chaich obtained their Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Communications Design from Pratt Institute, where they attended from 2007 to 2011. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Communications, with a minor in Writing, from Hiram College, which they attended from 1991 to 1995.
