Meredith Gore

Meredith Gore serves as a Counselor and Board Member at the American Geographical Society and The Explorers Club since 2022. Currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Geographical Sciences at the University of Maryland, Gore previously held the same position at Michigan State University from 2006 to 2020. Notable roles include serving as an Embassy Science Fellow at the US Mission to the African Union in 2018 and as a Jefferson Science Fellow at the US Department of State from 2016 to 2017. Gore completed a PhD in Natural Resource Policy and Management at Cornell University, a Master of Arts in Environment and Resource Policy at The George Washington University, and a BA in anthropology and environmental studies at Brandeis University. Prior experience includes a position as a Species Conservation Intern at Defenders of Wildlife.
