Benjamin Talton is an accomplished scholar and educator in African history, currently serving as a member of the Editorial Board for the American Historical Association and as the Director of the Moorland-Spingarn Research Center at Howard University since January 2022. Talton has held various roles in academia, including Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies at Temple University, and has contributed to the field through editorial work as the Editor of the African Studies Review for the African Studies Association since 2017. Further involvement in cultural and academic organizations includes serving as a Board Member for Ifetayo Cultural Arts Academy, Inc., and holding leadership positions in the Ghana Studies Association and ASWAD. Talton earned a PhD in African History from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor's degree in History from Howard University.
