Emily White Hat

Vice President, Programs at American Indian College Fund

Emily White Hat started their career in 2010 as a Project Manager at the National Congress of American Indians. Emily worked there until 2013. From 2013 to 2015, they served as a Project Evaluator at Sanford Health. In 2015, they joined the American Indian College Fund as a Native Arts and Energy Infrastructure Project Manager. Emily then progressed to the role of Director of Strategy and National Outreach from 2017 to 2019. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Programs at the American Indian College Fund.

Emily White Hat completed their Juris Doctor (JD) degree in Law from the University of New Mexico School of Law, from 2004 to 2007. Prior to that, they attained a Bachelor of Forestry degree in Fire Science - Rangeland Ecology from Colorado State University, studying from 2001 to 2004. Emily also obtained an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Lakota History and Culture from Sinte Gleska University, completing their studies prior to 2001.

Currently only 14% of American Indians have a college degree – less than half the national average.
