Timothy Howard

Timothy Howard is an experienced adjunct faculty member in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at The University of New Mexico, where responsibilities include the development and teaching of both traditional and online astronomy and physics courses. With a strong background in electro-optics and space systems, Timothy serves as an Associate Fellow and Past Chair of the Sensor Systems and Information Fusion Technical Committee at AIAA since 1987. Previous roles include CEO and Chief Scientist at EOSESS LLC, Associate Technical Fellow at Boeing, Project Engineer for LIGO at the California Institute of Technology, and Senior Specialist at Aerojet Electrosystems and Rockwell International. Timothy's research interests focus on optical and infrared instrumentation for astronomy and astrophysics, particularly in space-based missions and Earth remote sensing. Timothy holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Memphis, along with a Certificate in Microcomputer Engineering from UC Irvine.
