Susan Perkins currently serves as the Martin and Michele Cohen Dean of Science at The City College of New York since January 2020 and is a board member at the American Institute of Biological Sciences. Additionally, Susan has been a Board Trustee on the Alumni Board at the State University of New York College at Potsdam and a Research Associate at the American Museum of Natural History since January 2020. Prior positions include a 10-year tenure as an adjunct professor and adjunct associate professor at City University of New York, and a curator and professor specializing in Microbial Genomics at the American Museum of Natural History. Susan also held the role of President of the American Society of Parasitologists from June 2017 to June 2018, and served as a program officer at the National Science Foundation. Susan began their academic career as an assistant professor in evolutionary microbiology at the University of Colorado Boulder and earned a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Vermont.
