Project Manager at American Institutes for Research

Al Menke has extensive work experience in project management and technical architecture.

From 2015 to the present, Al worked as a Project Manager for the Illinois Department of Transportation, leading the transition to e-Construction and assisting in business process analysis and requirements for construction implementation, contract management, and materials inspection.

Prior to that, Al worked at MSF&W from 2005 to 2015, where they held multiple roles. Al was a Project Manager and HL7 Architect for Epic & MSF&W Software Integration, managing the interface between Epic EMR and MSF&W Software's Document Management System. Additionally, they worked as a Senior Consultant and PMP certified Project Manager.

In 2013, Al served as a Senior Project Manager/Technical Architect for Practice Water, LLC, where they assisted in building and supporting Fyv, Inc., a startup corporation that was launched in 2015.

Before that, Al worked as a Project Manager at the American Institutes for Research, supporting their contract with the Illinois State Board of Education. Al was responsible for building and maintaining the SharePoint website.

Al also worked as a Project Manager at the Illinois State Treasurer's Office from 2012 to 2013, a Program Manager at Horace Mann Insurance Companies from 2005 to 2011, and a Director of Applications at Indiana Pension Systems from 2004 to 2005.

In 1998, Al worked briefly as an Engagement Manager at BORN Group.

Al Menke earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Purdue University, where they studied from 1985 to 1988. In addition to their formal education, they obtained a PMP certification from the Project Management Institute in August 2011. Al also acquired a certification as a Private Aircraft Pilot from the Federal Aviation Administration, although the specific month and year of its attainment are not provided.
