Burhan Ogut

Principal Researcher at American Institutes for Research

Burhan Ogut has extensive work experience in research and evaluation studies in the field of K-12 and postsecondary education. Burhan has worked at the American Institutes for Research since 2008, starting as a Research Analyst and progressing to become a Principal Researcher. In their current role, they lead research and evaluation studies, focusing on applied statistical and econometric methods as well as utilizing big data in education. Burhan'sresponsibilities include developing research proposals, engaging funders, designing research, and analyzing data using data mining, machine learning, and econometric methods. Additionally, they analyze complex survey and state administrative data and disseminates findings to various audiences.

Prior to their work at American Institutes for Research, Burhan worked at the University of Florida as a Statistical Consultant and Teaching Assistant from 2003 to 2008. Burhan also gained teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant at Bogazici University from 2000 to 2003.

Burhan Ogut earned a PhD in Cognitive Psychololgy and Statistics from the University of Florida, where they studied from 2003 to 2008.
