Research Associate at American Institutes for Research

Candice Handjojo has a diverse work experience in various research and advisory roles. Candice worked as a Research Associate at the American Institutes for Research (AIR) from 2017 to the present. In this role, they managed project budgets, wrote proposals, and generated grant reports for philanthropic organizations. Candice also worked as a Research Assistant at AIR from 2018 to 2021, where they conducted stakeholder interviews, analyzed data trends, and provided insights and recommendations to teams and clients. Additionally, Candice was an Education Lab Research Assistant at the University of Chicago Urban Labs in 2022, where they conducted evaluative research and analyzed qualitative and quantitative data. Candice also worked as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Advisory Intern at C Street Advisory Group in 2022, providing strategic consulting and change recommendations. Prior to these roles, Candice had internships in government affairs and advocacy, policy, programs, media marketing and publicity, and also served as a mentor and a summer associate in different organizations.

Candice Handjojo's education history begins in 2013 when they attended Mt. San Antonio College for a period of two years. During this time, they did not obtain a specific degree or study in a specific field. After their time at Mt. San Antonio College, Candice went on to attend the University of California, Berkeley from 2015 to 2017, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Public Policy.

In 2021, Candice began pursuing their Master of Public Policy - MPP at the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago. Candice is expected to complete this program in 2023. As part of their master's program, Candice is also working towards a Certificate in Public Policy Analysis and Survey Research Methodologies.

Alongside their academic studies, Candice has obtained additional certifications to enhance their skillset. In October 2017, they obtained the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) Secondary Observer Certification and the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) Upper Elementary Observer Certification, both from Teachstone. In May 2023, they obtained the "UX Foundations: Usability Testing" certification from LinkedIn.
