Joni Wackwitz

Joni Wackwitz has an extensive work experience in the field of communications and editing. Joni began their career as an Associate Editor at The Psychological Corporation in 1992, where they maintained and produced technical documentation for psychological testing software. After two years in this role, Joni joined Holt McDougal (formerly Holt, Rinehart and Winston) as a Senior Editor in 1994. In this position, they managed, developed, wrote, and edited textbooks and educational materials for the secondary social studies market. Joni also supervised and trained small teams, managed outside vendors and freelancers, and ensured the content's accuracy, style, readability, and length. After working at Holt McDougal for over 13 years, Joni became self-employed as a freelance editor and writer from February 2008 to March 2009. Subsequently, they joined SEDL in 2009 as a Communications Specialist, and later transitioned to American Institutes for Research in 2015, where they currently hold the position of Senior Communications Specialist.
