Karyn Crowe Ruiz has a diverse work experience in the field of education. Karyn is currently working as a National Senior Academic Specialist at Aztec since 2021. In 2009, they joined the American Institutes for Research as a CA Adult Literacy Professional Development Project (CALPRO) Online Prof. Dev. Facilitator, where they prepared and facilitated online modules and conducted in-person trainings. From 2005, they worked at Visalia Unified School District as an Adult Education Instructor, where they facilitated ABE/GED goals and high school diploma credits for adult students and also served as a Data Analyst TOSA and WASC Coordinator. Karyn later joined Tulare Adult School in 2018 as an Adult Education Instructor and used Aztec Online Learning Software for instruction. In their early career, they worked as a 3rd Grade Teacher at Lindsay Unified School District and as a 1st and 2nd grade ELD and science instructor at San Lorenzo Unified School District.

Karyn began their academic journey in 1993 at Saint Mary's College of California, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. After completing their undergraduate studies in 1997, Karyn obtained a Multiple Subject CLAD Teaching Credential from the same institution in 1997.

In 1999, Karyn decided to further their education and enrolled at Brandman University. Over a span of two years, from 1999 to 2001, they pursued a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

Karyn's commitment to education continued years later when they returned to Brandman University in 2015. Karyn embarked on a new educational pathway, this time pursuing a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration. This particular program allowed their to focus on earning a CA Preliminary Administrative Credential.
