Kaylah Urie M.ed.

Kaylah Urie, M.Ed. has a diverse work experience in the education field. Kaylah currently works as a Project Associate at American Institutes for Research. Prior to that, they worked as a Math Tutor at Cignition in 2022. From 2020 to 2022, they served as a Mathematics Teacher at Great Oaks Charter School, where they developed detailed lesson plans and collaborated with the Special Services team to create differentiated learning plans for students. In the same year, they also worked as a Teacher at Teach For America, where they completed diversity immersive professional development programs and utilized cultural competency training to pursue excellent teaching. Before entering the education field, Kaylah worked as a Student Advocacy Intern at Penn State University, assisting with workshops and programming for inclusivity. Kaylah also worked as a Camp Counselor at Centre Region Parks and Recreation, planning activities for campers. In 2016, they gained customer service experience as a Sales Associate at The Shoe Department Encore.

Kaylah Urie, M.Ed. completed their Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Mathematics Teacher Education from Relay Graduate School of Education from 2020 to 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Human Development and Family Studies from Penn State University from 2016 to 2020. In 2018, they studied Spanish Language, Literature, Art, and History at Universidad Iberoamericana Puebla for a short period of time. Kaylah's secondary education took place at State College Area High School from 2012 to 2016.

In addition to their academic degrees, Kaylah has obtained various certifications. Kaylah completed the courses "Project Planning: Putting It All Together," "Project Initiation: Starting a Successful Project," and "Foundations of Project Management" from Coursera in 2022. In 2019, they obtained Level 1 Mentoring Certification from the College Reading & Learning Association. Furthermore, they also hold a CPR certification from the American Red Cross, which they obtained in 2017.
