Residential Segregation Toolkit Research Project Research Assistant at American Institutes for Research

Kobi Khong has a diverse range of work experience. Kobi started as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where they administered and coded data on police-involved shootings and conducted a literature review on firearm-related road rage incidents. Kobi then worked as a Residential Segregation Toolkit Research Project Research Assistant at the American Institutes for Research, where they conducted a systematic review of research studies on substance use and residential segregation and developed a toolkit resource for addiction research. In addition, Kobi co-founded the Critical Diaspora Studies major, securing funding and support for its development. Kobi also held various leadership positions in the Johns Hopkins Student Government Association, advocating for student interests and promoting inclusion and accountability. Additionally, Kobi served in roles related to community engagement, cultural organizations, and health policy research. Kobi demonstrated a commitment to civic engagement, social justice, and community service throughout their work experiences.

Kobi Khong began their education at Yorba Linda High School, where they obtained a High School Diploma from 2016 to 2020. Following this, from 2018 to 2019, they attended Coastline College. During their time at Yorba Linda High School and Coastline College, Kobi did not pursue a specific degree or field of study.

In 2020, Kobi enrolled at The Johns Hopkins University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Public Health. Kobi is expected to complete this degree in 2024.

In addition to their formal education, Kobi has obtained certifications in various areas. In 2022, they completed the JHSPH BASIC HUMAN SUBJECTS RESEARCH COURSE offered by the CITI Program. Kobi has also obtained certifications in Psychological First Aid from the National Child Traumatic Stress Network and in Standard First Aid, CPR, and AED from the American Red Cross, although the specific dates of obtaining these certifications are not provided.

Furthermore, in 2023, Kobi attended the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley, as a Public Policy and International Affairs Fellow. Kobi focused their studies on Public Policy Analysis during this program.
