Max Sgro has a diverse work experience spanning from 2008 to 2022. Their current role is as a Researcher at the American Institutes for Research, where they started in January 2022. Prior to this, Max worked as a Senior Research Analyst at IMPAQ International from August 2019 to December 2021. Max also has experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at the UC Berkeley Center for Labor Research and Education from May 2018 to May 2019.

Max Sgro's education history starts in 2009 when they studied Italian and Italian Government/culture at IES Abroad. In 2008, they enrolled at Connecticut College and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree, majoring in Biology and Italian. From 2017 to 2019, Max attended the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley, where they earned a Master of Public Policy degree. Currently, they are pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Health Services Research at the University of Washington, a program they started in 2020 and is expected to complete in 2025.
