Orrin Murray

Orrin Murray has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Orrin currently serves as a Principal Researcher at the American Institutes for Research since March 2021. Previously, they worked at UChicago Impact from 2013 to 2020, holding positions such as Director of Design and Development and Director of Technology and R&D. At UChicago Impact, they were responsible for designing and developing research-based social science tools and managing technology projects. Before that, Orrin was employed at The Pennsylvania State University as an Assistant Professor from 2008 to 2013 and as a Research Fellow from 2006 to 2008. Orrin also worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Michigan from 1999 to 2005 and as an Account Executive at Apple Computer from 1997 to 1999. Furthermore, Orrin gained experience in Channel Development at Apple Computer from 1989 to 1995. Overall, their work experience demonstrates a blend of academic research, technology development, and project management.

Orrin Murray completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Williams College from 1980 to 1984. Afterward, they pursued an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, which they completed from 1987 to 1989. Lastly, Orrin earned a Ph.D. in Education from the University of Michigan between 1999 and 2006.
