Richard A. Klein has a diverse work experience in strategic communications and leadership roles. RICHARD A. is currently serving as the Director of Strategic Communications at the American Institutes for Research. Prior to this, they worked as the Director of Communications at the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, where they focused on enhancing teacher performance and student achievement through strategic communications, media relations, and executive communications. RICHARD A. also served as an Associate Director at MedImmune, leading communications for senior executives and their teams. Before that, Richard worked as a Principal and Business Communications Manager at Mercer, where they managed various business and communications responsibilities. RICHARD A. also has experience as a Communications Manager at Bechtel, where they championed change initiatives and managed media and internal communications for the CIO and staff. Richard has a strong background in global communications as well, serving as a Director at AOL, leading the communications efforts for their largest division, and as a Senior Communications Specialist at Capital One, where they managed communications needs for the enterprise and business units, including brand management and marketing responsibilities.

Richard A. Klein holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Communications and Psychology from The George Washington University, and also has a Master of Education (M Ed) from the same institution. In addition to their academic qualifications, they have obtained a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in May 2021.
