Surakshya Karki has a diverse work experience in the field of public health and research. Surakshya is currently working at the American Institutes for Research as a Researcher in Health Payer Innovation, Transformation, and Support. Prior to this role, Surakshya worked as a Research Associate at the same organization.

Before joining the American Institutes for Research, Surakshya held the position of Research Analyst in Health Insurance Access & Value Based Care at IMPAQ International from October 2019 to January 2022.

Surakshya also worked at Social & Scientific Systems as a Scientific Committee Coordinator II in Clinical Research and Biosciences from 2018 to 2019. Surakshya previously held the position of Management Information System Coordinator in the same organization from 2017 to 2018.

Surakshya Karki holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Community Health Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. This was obtained from 2013 to 2016. Prior to this, they attained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Public Health with a minor in Biology from the same institution between 2009 and 2013. Surakshya Karki completed their high school education at Panther Creek High School, earning their high school diploma in 2009.

In addition to their degrees, Surakshya Karki has obtained several certifications. In 2018, they completed the "Introduction to the Principles and Practice of Clinical Research (IPPCR)" course from The National Institutes of Health. Surakshya also acquired the certification of "Healthcare Clinical Research Specialist" from Wake Technical Community College in 2017. Surakshya Karki became a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) in April 2016 through the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. Surakshya also holds the certification of "Activity Coordinator for Long Term Care" from Wake Technical Community College since August 2013 and became a Certified Nursing Assistant through the NC Department of Health and Human Services in June 2012.
