Tia Byers

Tia Byers has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Tia began their career in 2016 as a Brand Associate at Old Navy, where they worked until 2017. In 2017, they became a Fellow at Students for Education Reform for a brief period. Tia then joined the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2018, where they held various positions. Tia served as a Summer Student Assistant, a Research Assistant at the UNC School of Education, and a Civic Engagement Committee Co-Chair at the UNC Student Government Executive Branch. In the same year, they also worked as a Senior Class Marshal at the UNC General Alumni Association. Tia continued to broaden their experience in 2019 by becoming a Research Assistant at the American Institutes for Research. Tia later advanced to the role of Research Associate, which they currently hold as of April 2022. Additionally, Tia served as the Student Services Director at Movement of Youth from 2017 to 2019. Overall, Tia Byers has built a solid foundation of knowledge and skills through their various positions in research, education, and student organizations.

Tia Byers completed their Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy Analysis from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating in 2019. Currently, they are pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Education at the same institution, with their degree expected to be obtained in 2022. In terms of additional certifications, Tia has completed courses such as "Learning Airtable" and "The Power of Lists to Get Stuff Done" through LinkedIn, obtaining these certifications in December 2021 and October 2020, respectively. Tia has also acquired certifications in "Excel Essential Training (Office 365)", "Proven Tips for Managing Your Time", and "AIR Employees - General" from LinkedIn and CITI Program in 2020.
