Tamar Karpuj Oren

Senior Content Officer at American Jewish World Service (AJWS)

Tamar Karpuj Oren has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations and roles. Starting in 2010, they worked as a Translation and Editorial Intern at Emory University's Institute for The Study of Modern Israel. In 2012, they gained experience as a Curatorial Intern at the National Museum of American Jewish History and as a Business Development Intern at Caring People Alliance. From 2013 to 2015, they held the position of Executive Assistant at Alliance for a Healthier Generation, where they provided support to senior leadership, conducted research, and supervised interns. They then joined the Dorot Fellowship in Israel in 2016 as a Fellow. Tamar's most recent work experience is with the American Jewish World Service (AJWS), where they have held multiple roles since 2017. They started as a Publications and Marketing Editor, then progressed to the position of Content Officer, and currently serve as a Senior Content Officer. In this role, they handle various responsibilities such as developing marketing strategies, managing publication processes, and amplifying the stories of AJWS grantees.

Tamar Karpuj Oren completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Intellectual History at the University of Pennsylvania from 2009 to 2013. Later, they pursued a Master's Degree in Bioethics/Medical Ethics at Columbia University, graduating in 2017. Prior to their undergraduate studies, Tamar attended The Weber School from 2005 to 2009, but the degree earned and field of study during this time is unknown.
