Jon van Wylen

Chief Engineer at American Maritime Officers

Jon Van Wylen has diversified work experience in the maritime industry. Jon started their career in 2008 as a 1st Assistant Engineer at Grand River Navigation Company, Inc. and then worked at Van Wylen Marine Repair as a Contracted Marine Engineer from 2009 to 2015. In 2007, they also joined the U.S. Navy Reserve as an LCDR, O4. In 2013, they briefly served as a Strategic Sealift Liaison Officer at State University of New York Maritime College.

In 2014, Jon Van Wylen became the Chief Engineer at American Maritime Officers, followed by their position as President at Eco Ships Inc. in 2016. Most recently, in 2020, they served as an Aide de Camp to the Deputy Commander at US Transportation Command until 2021.
