Chris Young

Instructor Instructor Trainer at American Red Cross Bay Area

Chris Young is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in search and rescue, emergency management, and education. Currently serving as a PhD Researcher in Missing Person Studies at Intelligent Search Management since July 2023, Chris has also held various instructional roles, including EMT Skills Instructor at Mount Diablo Unified School District's Adult Education program, and Instructor/Instructor Trainer for the National Association for Search and Rescue. Chris's foundational career includes leadership as a Past Captain with the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team and as a Senior Project and Operations Manager for Swinerton Builders until retirement in January 2021. Earning a Doctor of Philosophy in Criminalogy and Criminal Justice focused on Missing Persons Studies from the University of Portsmouth, Chris also holds advanced degrees in Construction Management and Architectural Engineering from esteemed institutions.
