Stephanie Swanson

Director, Federal Programs at American Society of Addiction Medicine

Stephanie Swanson, MPH, serves as the Director of the Providers Clinical Support System Medications for Alcohol Use Disorder at the American Society of Addiction Medicine, beginning in September 2023. Prior to this role, Stephanie was the Director of Overdose Preparedness and Response at the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, where significant achievements included overseeing federally funded projects and developing strategic collaborations. With extensive experience at the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, contributions included managing substantial project budgets and leading teams to implement substance use prevention initiatives. Stephanie’s educational background includes a Master of Public Health from the University of New England, where graduation was achieved with Summa Cum Laude honors. Additional educational credentials include a Master of Public Health from UMass Amherst and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and Political Science from Gustavus Adolphus College, where Cum Laude honors were also received.
