Nisha Kakwani

President, ASCP URI Chapter at ASCP

Nisha Kakwani has a diverse work experience, starting in 2009 as an Ambassador Girl Scout for the Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey. In 2021, they worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Rhode Island, conducting research experiments in nanotherapeutics and biomaterials engineering. Nisha also served as a URI 101 Mentor and Campus Tour Guide in the Office of Admissions.

In 2022, Nisha became a Resident Academic Mentor at the University of Rhode Island - College of Pharmacy, providing academic support to students. Nisha also joined ASCP as a Local Member and later became the Vice President of the ASCP URI Chapter.

In 2023, Nisha interned at Pfizer as a Global Labeling Lead Intern, working on labeling projects. Nisha also took on the role of Director of Professional Programming at the Industry Pharmacists Organization at The University of Rhode Island.

Overall, Nisha has gained experience in research, mentoring, leadership, and pharmaceutical internships throughout their career.

Nisha Kakwani has a High School Diploma from HCRHS, which they obtained between the years 2017 and 2021. Nisha is currently pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Rhode Island, which they started in 2021 and is expected to complete in 2027. Additionally, Nisha has obtained several certifications including Anti Stigma Training from NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals in October 2022, CPR/AED/First Aid from the American Heart Association in February 2022, and Yoga Instructor Certification from Ahimsa School in August 2020.
