James Edmund Datri has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. James Edmund is currently the Chief Executive Officer of ASMP: The American Society of Media Photographers, where they have successfully expanded the organization's reach to include new media digital content creators and launched a new members-only education platform. Prior to this role, they were the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Miller/Datri Entertainment, a digital-first film and video production company. James Edmund also served as the President & CEO of the American Advertising Federation for ten years, leading the organization through the challenges of the Great Recession and building new revenue streams. Before their career in the media industry, Datri was a partner at law firms, including McDermott Will & Emery and Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, where they represented and advised high-profile clients. James Edmund also held various roles in the US Congress, including Executive Director of the Democratic Caucus. Datri has also worked as a speechwriter for the 2004 and 2000 Democratic National Conventions.

James Edmund Datri obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of California, Santa Cruz between 1985 and 1989. James Edmund then pursued further education at Harvard Law School, where they earned their Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from 1989 to 1992.
