Joseph Graf is a senior professorial lecturer in the Public Communication Division at the School of Communication, American University, since August 2006, where responsibilities also include directing graduate programs in strategic communication. Previously, Joseph served as a project director at the Institute for Politics, Democracy & the Internet from 2002 to 2006, focusing on research related to online politics. Joseph's academic experience includes a role as a visiting professor at The George Washington University, where coursework encompassed journalism and social science research from 1999 to 2002. Joseph began a career in journalism as a newspaper reporter at The Centre Daily Times from 1988 to 1992. Joseph earned a PhD in Communication from George Mason University, an MA in Journalism and Mass Communications from The Ohio State University, and a BA in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
