Samantha Cohen

Samantha Cohen is a seasoned education professional with extensive experience in teaching, program development, and leadership. Currently serving as Senior Professorial Lecturer and Executive Director at American University since August 2018, Samantha has launched a practitioner-based online doctoral program in education leadership and policy and teaches both masters and doctoral students. Additionally, as a Board Member for Parent Teacher Home Visits, Samantha facilitates national evaluations and supports strategic development. Previous roles include positions at TAKOMA PARK CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER and Georgetown University, among others, where efforts focused on early childhood education and community-based learning. Samantha's background also includes strategic roles with the Flamboyan Foundation, UP Education Network, and Montgomery County Public Schools, highlighting a commitment to family engagement, personalized instruction, and systemic support for student learning. Samantha holds an Ed.L.D. from Harvard Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania.
