Jason Stephenson

Jason Stephenson currently serves as Vice President and Chief Regulatory Policy Counsel at American Water, a position held since May 2023. Prior to this, Jason held several key roles, including Vice President and Associate General Counsel for Regulatory Legal at CenterPoint Energy from February 2019 to May 2023, and Vice President and General Counsel at Vectren Utility Holdings, Inc. from March 2014 to May 2023. Jason began the career as a Partner in the Energy and Utilities Practice Group at Barnes & Thornburg LLP, where services focused on energy, water, and wastewater utilities, representing a variety of utilities in regulatory and litigation matters. Earlier experience includes working as a Law Clerk at SBC from June 1997 to May 1999. Jason earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Management from Taylor University.
