Ashley Lunkenheimer started their career in 2002 as a law clerk at the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Ashley then worked as a law clerk at the United States District Court for the District of Columbia in 2003. In 2004, they joined Covington & Burling LLP as an associate. In 2007, they became an Assistant United States Attorney at the Department of Justice, a position they held until 2016. From 2016 to 2018, they worked as a Senior Legal Counsel at AmeriHealth Caritas. In 2018, they ran as a candidate for U.S. Congress from Pennsylvania's 5th District and later in the same year, they became the Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at AmeriHealth Caritas.
Ashley Lunkenheimer earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in French and Psychology from Amherst College in the years 1992 to 1996. From 1997 to 1999, Ashley pursued their Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) degree from Columbia University - Columbia School of Social Work. Lastly, from 1999 to 2002, they attended the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and completed their Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree.
