Jason Coons has an extensive work experience in various leadership roles within the healthcare industry. Jason currently serves as the Vice President of Business Excellence at AmeriHealth Caritas, where they are responsible for establishing and leading a business excellence function to drive financial and operational improvement. Prior to this, they held the position of Vice President of Business Transformation at Dean Health Plan, Inc., where they oversaw the Project Management Office, Continuous Improvement, and Strategic Sourcing. Jason also served as the Senior Vice President of Population Health and Vice President of Population Health Analytics and Business Transformation at CareSource, where they directed the implementation of innovative population health strategies and advanced analytics. Jason also worked at Kettering Health Network as the Network Director of Process Excellence, at TechSolve, Inc. as the Program Manager of Healthcare Solutions, and at Ethicon, Inc. in various engineering and operational roles. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated a strong ability to drive organizational change, improve operational efficiency, and deliver value to healthcare organizations.
Jason Coons earned a Masters degree in Health Administration from Ohio University in 2011-2012. Jason also holds a Masters of Applied Science in Population Health Management from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. In terms of certifications, Jason has earned the ITIL Foundation certification from EXIN in 2015, and they have a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute which they obtained in December 2014. Jason has also obtained several other certifications, including Lean Healthcare from the University of Tennessee in 2007, Lean Six Sigma in Service, Administration, and Healthcare from the Institute of Industrial Engineers in 2006, Six Sigma Blackbelt from MMTC in 2006, and Six Sigma Greenbelt from Johnson & Johnson in 2005. In addition to their formal education, Jason completed the Leader Fellowship Program at the Advisory Board Company from 2015 to 2016.
