Jim DeBuse has extensive legal experience in corporate law, currently serving as Vice President - Lead Chief Counsel at Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC since April 2015. In this role, Jim leads a team of legal professionals, providing support for mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, public-company disclosure, and risk management across various business lines. Key accomplishments include leading legal support for significant transactions such as Ameriprise's acquisition of BMO's European asset management business and the strategic partnership with Comerica. Prior to Ameriprise, Jim was a Corporate Associate at Faegre Baker Daniels LLP, where Jim represented clients in M&A and capital markets transactions. Jim earned a Juris Doctorate from the University of Iowa College of Law and holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Business Administration and Finance from Drake University.
