Kate Harrington

Kate Harrington currently serves as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Amherst College, where responsibilities include overseeing the Human Resources operation and transforming the department into a strategic partner for attracting and developing talent. Prior experience includes leadership roles at Smith College, where Kate held positions from Director of HR Consulting Practice to Human Resources Manager, as well as a tenure at Target as Executive Team Leader in Human Resources. Kate's foundational experiences in student engagement and residence management were gained at institutions such as the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Arizona State University, and the University of Rhode Island, where Kate also completed a Master’s degree in College Student Counseling and Personnel Services and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media Studies.
