Julia supports research projects through a variety of responsibilities, including survey design, data collection, interviewing, project coordination and writing reports.
Before joining Wilder, Julia worked for multiple nonprofit organizations, focusing on working with youth and education. She facilitated an after-school program for children staying at the shelter for People Serving People, and she worked as a college access coach with College Possible to address the achievement gap. She also spent a year with AmeriCorps NCCC where she was able to travel the United States and work for various nonprofit organizations and local governments, particularly focusing on environmental issues. Julia is interested in a little bit of everything, but her main research interests include education equity, homelessness, public policy, and community-based organizations. She is committed to creating real change and continually learning. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Elizabethtown College, where she focused on research methods, mental health and counseling.
Outside of work, Julia can often be found reading, painting, or at a yoga studio. She believes self-care is very important. She also enjoys music and encourages everyone to send her new artists to discover.
