Joseph Bauman

Principal Investigator - Discovery Molecular Biology at Amicus Therapeutics

Joseph Bauman has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific research. From 1996 to 1997, they worked as a Lab Tech at the University of Miami. In 2007, they began their career at Rutgers University, where they held several research positions, including Research Associate, Assistant Research Professor, and Associate Research Professor. During their time at Rutgers, they conducted extensive research on HIV-1 proteins and contributed to the development of new inhibitors for drug development. Bauman also mentored graduate students and post-doctoral associates in various experimental design techniques. In 2011, they co-founded Prodaptics Pharmaceuticals, leading a team in the development of small molecule inhibitors for the endonuclease of the influenza RNA-dependent RNA polymerase. Bauman's work at Prodaptics Pharmaceuticals resulted in several patents and publications. In 2019, they joined Amicus Therapeutics as a Principal Investigator, specializing in Discovery Molecular Biology.

Joseph Bauman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Science/Biology from the University of Miami in 1995. Joseph then pursued further studies at Rutgers University, where they completed their PhD in Biochemistry from 1999 to 2006.
