Dereje Shiferaw

Dereje Shiferaw has worked as a Data Engineer at Amitech Solutions since November 2021. In this role, they developed an ETL pipeline to automate data extraction and loading processes, created a recommendation system using regression models, and produced statistical models for hypothesis testing and anomaly detection.

Prior to that, Dereje worked as a Data Analyst at Targeted Technology Institute from February 2018 to November 2021. In this position, they collaborated with cross-functional teams to produce data products, built reports to track system performance and identify issues, and developed pipelines to monitor and update data processes while ensuring accuracy and integrity.

Dereje Shiferaw has a diverse education history. In 2010, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering from Wollo University. From 2016 to 2019, they attended Northern Virginia Community College, where they earned an Associate's degree in Information Technology.

In terms of certifications, Dereje obtained several certifications related to information technology and web security. In October 2020, they obtained the Certified Internet Webmaster Web Security Associate certification from Certification Partners (CIW). Dereje also acquired the CompTIA Security+ ce Certification in November 2020, followed by the CompTIA A+ ce Certification and the CompTIA IT Operations Specialist – CIOS Stackable Certification in October 2020. Additionally, they obtained the CompTIA Network+ ce Certification in September 2020. Most recently, in May 2022, they earned the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Currently, Dereje is pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Information Technology at Western Governors University. Dereje is also a graduate of DataCamp's data science bootcamp program, which they attended from 2020 to 2021.
