Chan Jing Chean

Intermediate Game Designer at Ammobox Studios

Chan Jing Chean has a diverse range of work experience in the gaming industry. They began their career as a Parttime Assistant at MULTI LASER PRINT, where they assisted the Managing Director with stock checking, data entry, and basic graphics editing. They then gained experience as a Freelance Graphic Designer at Ampang United Badminton Club, where they volunteered and produced branding graphics for the club.

Chan's passion for game design led them to intern as a Game Design Intern at Appxplore, where they designed gameplay mechanics for Claw Stars and tested six games for the QA and publishing team. They later joined Appxplore as a Junior Producer, co-designing a Daily Login feature that improved long-term retention rates.

Continuing to develop their skills in the gaming industry, Chan joined iCandy Interactive Limited as a Junior Game Designer. In this role, they designed gameplay mechanics and systems for an unannounced project, as well as balanced the game's numerical data for combat and game economy.

Currently, Chan is working at Ammobox Studios as an acting Lead Game Designer on an unannounced flagship title. They focus on gameplay, systems, and 3C design, handling design documentation and playtesting.

Before entering the gaming industry, Chan gained experience in the service industry as a Service Crew at Taiwan Teahouse, where they handled the opening and closing operations of the restaurant, assisted in roster management, and created a workflow to mitigate human error during peak hours.

Overall, Chan Jing Chean has built a strong foundation in game design and has a passion for creating innovative and engaging gameplay experiences.

From 2016 to 2021, Chan Jing Chean attended Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Game Design. Their field of study during this time was focused on Game and Interactive Media Design.
