Currently serving as a Researcher in Crisis Response at Amnesty International since August 2021, Laura focuses on human rights issues in conflict and emergency settings. Prior to this role, Laura worked at Human Rights Watch from February 2018 to August 2021, where research encompassed civil and political rights as well as health and disability issues in countries including Russia, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and the United States. Laura's journalism background includes reporting roles at The Wall Street Journal and the Associated Press, along with an internship at The Moscow Times. Educational qualifications include a BA in History and Slavic Studies from Columbia University, obtained in 2012.
