Lloyd Minor

Lloyd Minor is the Carl and Elizabeth Naumann Dean of the Stanford University School of Medicine, a position he has held since December 2012. He is also a professor of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery and of Bioengineering and of Neurobiology, by courtesy, at Stanford University. Prior to Stanford, he was the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at Johns Hopkins University. Before becoming Provost at Johns Hopkins in 2009, he was the Andelot Professor and director (chair) of the Department of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery at Johns Hopkins.

Dr. Minor is an expert on inner ear balance disorders and has published over 160 papers and chapters. His book, Discovering Precision Health, published in 2020, highlights how biomedical advances are dramatically improving our ability to predict, prevent, and cure diseases. He was elected to membership in the National Academy of Medicine (formerly Institute of Medicine) in 2012.
