Rebecca McDermott has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of talent management and leadership development. Rebecca is currently working as the Director of Talent & Business Partnering at AMP, where they lead the team responsible for talent acquisition, early careers talent and diversity programs, talent & succession management, inclusion, learning, and leadership development. Prior to this, they held various leadership roles at Bloomberg LP and QBE Insurance, where they were responsible for leadership, learning, and talent development across different regions. Rebecca also has experience working as a consultant psychologist and held positions at Macquarie Group, PDI Ninth House (Korn Ferry), Chandler Macleod, CompAssess Business Psychologists, and Christie Consulting. Rebecca'sroles encompassed competency framework design, project management, leadership development program design and facilitation, coaching, assessment and development center design, and organizational development solutions.
Rebecca McDermott has a strong educational background in the field of psychology and coaching. Rebecca obtained a Masters of Science in Coaching Psychology from the University of Sydney in 2020. Prior to that, they received a Professional Certificate in Executive Coaching from the Institute of Coaching and Consulting Psychology (ICCP) in 2014. Rebecca also holds a MPsych degree in Organisational Psychology from UNSW, which they completed from 1999 to 2000. Rebecca began their educational journey by earning a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology from Charles Sturt University between 1995 and 1998. Additionally, Rebecca has acquired various certifications and specializations in areas such as HR law, workplace facilitation, emotional intelligence, and cultural communication. Rebecca is also a registered psychologist with the Australia Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
