Will Acton

Will Acton has a diverse work history, beginning in 2009 as a Buying and Sales Associate at Stuff, followed by a stint as a Caterer at ARAMARK in 2012. Will interned at KS&Co in 2013, preparing tax returns for corporate clients. Later that year, they began coaching at Five Rings Jiu Jitsu and Fitness, a role they held until 2020. In 2014, they worked simultaneously for two companies: LinkTech Worldwide, where they worked as a Web Developer customizing WordPress sites, and Cambia Health Solutions, where they served as a Full Stack Developer (Software Development Engineer III). At Cambia Health Solutions, they developed new services and front-end applications using various technologies such as Clojure, ClojureScript, React, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, React Native, Node.js and RxJava. Will also built REST and GraphQL APIs for mobile applications, created a React Native and Android framework, and took the lead in developing single-page applications. Acton joined Amperity as a Senior Software Engineer in 2019, before being promoted to Engineering Manager the following year. Will is currently serving as Senior Engineering Manager and heads several projects related to design libraries, UI analytics, and performance, and UI frameworks.

From 2009 to 2013, Will Acton attended Portland State University where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics.
