Alastair Lefley

Alastair Lefley has a diverse and extensive work experience in various semiconductor companies. Alastair started their career at Texas Instruments in 1988, where they worked as Design Engineer, Member of Technical Staff, and Field Application Engineer. During this time, they focused on designing telecom macros for ASIC libraries, including high-speed I/O, clock PLLs, and clock distribution schemes.

In 1998, Alastair joined Ericsson Microelectronics AB as a Principal Design Engineer, specializing in Bluetooth Baseband and Radio ASICs. Alastair played a key role in the specification and design of microprocessor-based baseband designs, with a focus on transitioning to AMBA and Harvard based architectures.

Alastair then moved to Infineon Technologies in 2002, following the acquisition of Ericsson Microelectronics AB. Here, they worked as a Senior Staff Engineer, primarily involved in the development of a single-chip Bluetooth solution and the design of cellular phone power management ASICs.

From 2003 to 2010, Alastair worked at Dialog Semiconductor as a Design Engineer, contributing to the full-custom and semi-custom design of LCD display driver devices.

In 2005, Alastair joined Innovision as a Technical Lead, where they specialized in NFC and RFID designs. Their responsibilities included specification negotiation, pinout and architecture definition, digital bus-architecture definition, and full-custom layout of low-level blocks.

Finally, Alastair joined Broadcom in 2010 as a Senior Principal Engineer. Alastair worked as a technical lead on a key customer project and made significant contributions to NFC circuit design, resulting in the issuance of five US patents.

Alastair's most recent role, starting in 2016, was at ams AG, where they worked as a Principal Design Verification Engineer. Alastair was responsible for improving the quality level of design verification, with a focus on key customer projects. Their expertise spanned requirements tracking, verification planning, debug regression failures, and the development of new testbenches and test cases.
