Andrea Gansen

Vice President Labor Relations at Amtrak

Andrea Gansen has held various positions in their work experience. Andrea started their career as a Law Clerk at Lynch Greenleaf & Michael in 1992 and worked there until 1994. Andrea then worked at PacifiCorp as the Managing Director of Employee Relations from an unspecified start date in 2000 until 2007. At PacifiCorp, they were responsible for overseeing a team of 60 staff and managing an $11 million budget. Andrea successfully integrated and consolidated HR/Organizational Effectiveness and Labor Relations functions, resulting in improved service delivery. Andrea also set staffing and recruitment strategies and oversaw employee engagement and corporate communications. In 2007, they joined Union Pacific Railroad as the General Director of Labor Relations until 2009. Andrea then became the AVP of Labor Relations at Union Pacific Railroad from January 2010 until October 2016. In this role, they managed a 15-person team and a $5 million budget and was responsible for contract negotiations and maintaining positive union relations. Andrea also served as the benefit plan administrator for a facility with 150+ employees and led a successful bargaining solution that generated over $13 million in savings. From 2017 to 2018, they worked at Allegiant Travel as the Labor Relations Director. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Labor Relations at Amtrak, starting in September 2018.

Andrea Gansen attended Creighton University from 1987 to 1991, where they obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Economics. Andrea then attended the University of Iowa College of Law from 1991 to 1994 and earned a Doctor of Law (JD) degree. In addition to their education, Andrea has obtained several certifications throughout their career, including a certificate in Employee Benefits Law, an Advanced Certificate in Employment Law, and a Utility Executive Course. Andrea has also completed leadership development programs such as the Leadership Development Program (LDP) and Leadership Omaha - Class 31. Andrea Gansen is a well-educated and experienced professional in the field of law and corporate leadership.
