Lucas Liu

Lucas Liu has extensive work experience in the field of protein sciences. Lucas is currently working as the Director of Protein Sciences at Amunix Pharmaceuticals since January 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Associate Director at Amunix Pharmaceuticals from June 2019 to March 2022.

Before joining Amunix Pharmaceuticals, Lucas worked at AbbVie as a Senior Scientist II from April 2018 to June 2019. Lucas also served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at UCSF from February 2015 to March 2018.

Lucas has a strong academic background and research experience. Lucas worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they focused on developing small molecule inhibitors against potential drug targets involved in isoprenoid biosynthesis as anti-bacterials, anti-malarials, anti-parasitics, and anti-cancer agents. Lucas was also a Graduate Research Assistant at UIUC from July 2007 to December 2012, and a Teaching Assistant at the same institution from September 2010 to December 2010.

Additionally, Lucas has prior research experience as a Research Assistant at National Chiao Tung University from March 2007 to May 2007 and at Academia Sinica, Taiwan from May 2003 to June 2005.

Lucas Liu has an extensive education history. Lucas earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Life Science from National Dong Hwa University (NDHU) from 1999 to 2003. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Biochemical Science at National Taiwan University from 2003 to 2005. Lucas then went on to complete their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biophysics and Computational Biology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2007 to 2012.
