Mona Elbadawi has worked in a variety of roles in the biotechnology industry since 2004. From 2004 to 2010, they worked as an Assistant Scientist at Dey, L.P., where they were responsible for formulating respiratory therapeutic solutions and suspensions. In 2010, they moved to Bayer Biologics as a Senior Research Associate, where they identified and isolated novel active ingredients for advancement of product pipeline. In 2012, they joined the West Coast Metabolomics Center as a Research and Development Specialist and Graduate Student Researcher, where they expanded and developed stable isotope tracer analysis methods and interpreted and summarized pharmacometabolomic data. In 2014, they were a Summer Intern at Genentech. Finally, in 2018, they joined Amyris as an Associate Director and Lead Scientist of Bioanalytics, where they led a team of 10 members dedicated to solving complex biological challenges and coached and mentored team members to enable growth in their scientific career and development of their leadership abilities.
Mona Elbadawi obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Animal Sciences from the University of California, Davis from 1999 to 2003. Mona then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the same university, graduating in 2017.
