Rafael Silva

Rafael Silva has over 10 years of work experience in process engineering. In 2008, they began working as a Process Engineer at Elekeiroz SA. The following year, they joined Saga Engenharia as a Process Engineer, where they were responsible for budget estimates, construction supervision, verification and approval of engineering documentation, and integration between engineering disciplines. In 2013, they moved to BR3 Agrobiotecnologia as a Process Manager, where they implemented, commissioned and started up pilot fermenters, managed Manufacturing, Engineering, and Safety departments, and supported the R&D and fermentation team. In 2016, they became a Project Consultant at Itatijuca Biotech. Most recently, in 2017, they began working at Amyris as a Senior Process Engineer, where they are responsible for prospection, infrastructure evaluation, adequacy and coordination of Contracted Manufacturing Operations, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, report production and performance of contracted manufacturing, and support the PD team on evaluation of tech transfer technologies.

Rafael Silva obtained a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from USP - Universidade de São Paulo between 2003 and 2007.
