Ricardo De La Peña has been working as a Scientist I, Bioanalytics at Amyris since 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Stanford University from 2014-2022. During their time at Stanford, they used mass spectrometry based metabolomics and transcriptomics to elucidate complex terpene plant secondary metabolic pathways in heterologous hosts. Ricardo also engineered hosts for yield improvement of clinically and agriculturally relevant plant terpenoids, and developed a robust platform for isolation and structural characterization of metabolites.
Ricardo De La Peña completed their Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 2014. Ricardo then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University, which they completed in 2021.
