Langston Smith

Langston Smith has a diverse work history spanning multiple industries. Their most recent position is as a Senior Android Engineer at Angaza, where they manage and develops two Android apps that facilitate access to credit and financial inclusion for people without traditional banking services. Prior to this role, Langston was a Member at /dev/color, a non-profit organization dedicated to developing Black software engineers into industry leaders.

Before joining /dev/color, Langston served as a Senior Android Engineer at Outdoorsy, where they utilized various technologies to build multiple Android apps for the largest RV rental experiences marketplace. Langston also implemented a Bitrise CI/CD pipeline to streamline the deployment process.

Earlier in their career, Langston worked as an Android Engineer at Mapbox, where they played a key role in building Navigation and Maps SDKs for different markets. Langston has also held positions in marketing and communication, including a role as Marketing Manager at Vericant and Property Management and Marketing Strategist at OCEANS Sports & Entertainment Marketing. In addition, Langston has experience in public relations and interned at the American Chamber of Commerce in China and Major League Baseball. Langston also founded UPenn 2010 Graduation Cushions, demonstrating their entrepreneurial spirit.

Langston Smith obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from the Annenberg School of Communication at the University of Pennsylvania from 2006 to 2010. In 2013, they completed an Intensive Chinese Language program at CET Academic Programs in Harbin Institute of Technology. Langston also attended General Assembly in 2016 for an Android Development Immersive program. Additionally, Langston has obtained various certifications, including a Google AdWords Certification from Google in December 2014, an Inbound Certification from HubSpot in April 2014, and a Google Analytics Individual Qualification (GAIQ) from Google in November 2012. Langston also has several badges from Salesforce Trailhead, including CRM Basics Badge, Salesforce User Basics Badge, and Salesforce User Tour Badge.
