David Poynter

David Poynter is the GM of Business Development & Evidence-Based Models at Anglicare Victoria. David has over 17 years of experience in the human services sector, with a focus on business development, innovation, and evidence-based models. David has a proven track record in developing new business opportunities, writing tenders, and articulating programs. David has also managed mergers & acquisitions and partnerships.

David began their career in 2000 as a director and co-owner of Horizon Care Ltd. In 2003, they became the owner of Care Audits Ltd and then, in 2005, the Head of Looked After Children Services at Staffordshire County Council. In 2008, they were promoted to Placement Co-ordination Unit Manager at the Department of Health & Human Services in Victoria, Australia. In 2011, they were appointed General Manager of Life Without Barriers in Victoria, where they developed the LWB business from $2m to $13m.

Most recently, David has been with OzChild as Senior Manager - Business Development & Innovation since July 2013. In this role, they are responsible for evidence based models and implementation support, as well as tender writing and program articulation.

David Poynter has a certification from WorkSafe Victoria in OHS for managers and supervisors. David also has a certification from the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health in Managing Safely. In addition, they have a Professional Trainer Certificate from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. David also holds a Diploma in Social Work from CCETSW and a Masters of Arts in Social Work from the University of Leicester. Finally, they have a Bachelor of Arts in Modern David'story and Politics with Economics from the University of Southampton.
