Matt is a serial founder, angel investor, and advisor. Most recently, he co-founded 21 (later Earn.com), one of the earliest blockchain companies that was sold in 2018 to Coinbase. Prior to that, Matt co-founded Voltage Security, an enterprise cybersecurity company originally formed in his dorm room at Stanford in 2002.
Widely considered one of the originators of the data-centric security model, Voltage was acquired in 2015 by HP Enterprise. Matt is the author of more than two dozen cryptography, security, and payments patents and was a key contributor in the development of several NIST & IETF security standards. He holds a BS in Computer Science from Stanford.
Current role
