Alexis Berry

Orchestra Librarian at Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra

Alexis Berry’s first memory with the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra was from an Instrument Petting Zoo when she was five. It was the first time she played a violin. During her years growing up in Ann Arbor, Alexis came to play viola, violin, piano, double bass, guitar, and sing through various programs and events throughout the Ann Arbor community.

Alexis earned her Bachelor of Music degree in viola performance from Michigan State University in 2019. While she was a student, she managed the music library at MSU’s College of Music. Upon graduation, she accepted an internship with the National Symphony Orchestra at The Kennedy Center where she developed her skills further as an orchestral librarian. After interning with the A2SO last season, Alexis is thrilled to return as the Orchestra Librarian for the upcoming season and become more deeply involved in the incredible music community that Ann Arbor boasts.

When she isn’t prepping, teaching, or playing music herself, Alexis can be found rock climbing (and coaching climbing), swimming, cooking, reading, or watching Marvel movies.
