Lori Lavin has a diverse work experience history with roles in education and management. Lori began as a General Manager at Miller's on Main in 2009, then transitioned to educational roles such as Substitute Teacher and Driver Education Instructor at Chisago Lakes School District and Forest Lake Area Schools, respectively. Lori continued their educational journey as a Graduate Student in Special Education at Bethel University and later worked as a Special Education Teacher at North Branch Area School District. Currently, they hold the position of Special Education Lead at Anoka-Hennepin School District, after completing coursework for a Sped Director & Principal License at St. Cloud State University.

Lori Lavin's education history includes receiving a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education and History from St. Cloud State University in 1996. Lori then completed an Associate of Arts degree in General Studies at Lakewood Community College in 1993. Lori later pursued multiple licensures and degrees in Special Education from Bethel University, including an ABS Special Education Licensure in 2014, a Master's Degree in Special Education in 2016, and an Autism Spectrum Disorder Licensure in the same year. In 2017, they were recognized with the TIES Exceptional Teacher Award for their work in technology in the classroom, followed by receiving the 2022 Outstanding Leader Award. Lori has also obtained additional certifications, such as a 7-12 Social Studies License from St. Cloud State University and Special Education licenses from Bethel University.
